Gemotions

The sun beat down on the cracked pavement as Jake walked away from the interview building. He felt a throbbing sensation in his temples. He could hear Sarah's laughter ringing in his ears. It was a mocking sound.

He'd gone over every possible question. He'd studied the company inside and out. He'd even bought a new suit. But it hadn't mattered. Sarah had still been chosen.

He pictured Sarah getting the job, and it fueled a dark feeling within him. He kept walking, away from the building, further away from the city. He needed time to think. He wouldn't show anyone that he was affected.

He would make sure that he succeeded. Somehow.
