Eliza had always admired Sarah's ambition. When Sarah mentioned her new career as a "digital marketing strategist," Eliza was genuinely pleased. Until she bumped into Sarah at the local library, stacking shelves. A dull ache settled in Eliza’s stomach.

Later that evening, Eliza sat at her computer, staring at Sarah's Facebook profile. The photos, the boasts, the curated life – it all felt like a betrayal. A heat prickled her skin.

"I need to talk to her," she muttered, but immediately closed the message box. The thought of confronting Sarah filled her with a strange, clenched feeling. She'd pretend she knew nothing, let Sarah continue, even if it frustrated her.

She pulled the blankets tighter around herself, her jaw tightly set. She would not let Sarah see her flustered. She would not.
