He found the note plastered to the brick facade of his house. "Vehicle Towed." The phrase burned in his eyes.

“There must be some mistake,” he muttered, his fists clenching until his knuckles were white. He knew the HOA was a pain, but this was ridiculous.

He spent the next hour on hold, listening to elevator music and repeating his name. When he finally got through, he spent another hour arguing with a woman who sounded like she was reading from a script. He wasn’t wrong, and he would not back down.
