The doctor’s pronouncements buzzed in Amelia’s ears like angry bees. “Based on this file, Mrs. Henderson, you’re showing signs of… well, advanced dementia.” Amelia scoffed. Dementia? She, who could recite the capitals of every country in the world? Her jaw clenched. She knew she was right, even though the evidence supposedly said otherwise.

She glared at the file, its edges frayed and familiar. It had her name on it, but the contents… a stranger's life. The doctor's voice trailed off as she began to deny the diagnosis and began listing her accomplishments. She had to, to make sure this mistake was fixed.

She was going to get to the bottom of this. She wouldn't let some clerical error define her. She would have the right file and prove her sharpness.
