The shared Uber ride was a disaster from the start. Both women, forced to share the backseat, were silent, each radiating tension. Sarah, whose hand nervously clutched her handbag, risked a glance at her companion. The other woman, dressed in a sharp business suit, stared out the window with a look of icy composure.

The driver, oblivious, attempted to make small talk. Neither woman responded. The silence grew heavier with each passing block. The suit-clad woman’s lips were a thin, tight line.

Finally, the car stopped. The suit-clad woman paid the fare. She didn't look at Sarah. She was not going to make it easy. She wouldn't apologize. Not yet.
