Gemotions

The scent of chlorine hung heavy in the air. The two women, both dripping wet and clad in swimsuits, glared at each other from opposite sides of the pool. He had told them both he was a "competitive swimmer."

One of the women, whose name was Jessica, kept her gaze fixed on the water, refusing to break eye contact. She could feel the sting of betrayal, the anger simmering beneath the surface. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her upset.

He wasn't going to get away with this. She’d been training for a triathlon. Now what? She wasn’t the one who had messed up. She waited.
