Rain lashed against the windows of the coffee shop, mirroring the tempest brewing inside Amelia. She'd found the wallet tucked under a table leg. The name on the driver's license belonged to a Mr. Henderson, a man whose expensive watch she'd noticed earlier. Inside, the wallet was overflowing with cash. The urge to hand it in was there, she felt the prickle of responsibility, but a different emotion held her still.

“Just a few hours,” she muttered, staring at the rain. “Just a taste.” She wouldn't call the police. She’d wait. Let the man sweat. Then, she'd decide. She wouldn't give in easily.
