He saw the tiny Pomeranian, a whirlwind of orange fur, sniffing at his barbecue. His mouth curled with frustration. The owner, a college student, had left the dog unsupervised. Again. He could almost hear the girl's carefree apology as he pictured her.

He crossed his arms, the muscles in his back tense. He had worked all morning preparing for the family's barbecue, which this dog would now undoubtedly spoil. His resolve was firm.

He wasn't going to let a fluffy menace ruin his afternoon. He would handle this himself.
