The community theatre was hosting a musical. Anya sat stiffly in her seat, arms crossed. She had come to support a friend, but the opening number was… well, it was her song. "Painted Skies." She'd donated it to a local theatre group years ago.

The actors’ voices were shaky. The music was a mess. They had changed her harmonies. Her face remained impassive. She felt a burning sensation in her cheeks.

She wouldn’t walk out. That would be rude. She wouldn't make a scene. She would sit here, and take it. She would not let them see her displeasure.
