Gemotions

I found the deposit slips hidden in the glove compartment of his car. I felt a surge of indignation, a tightness in my chest that wouldn't release. He hadn't told me about this, never let on about this account. This blatant disregard for our agreement. My jaw was clenched.

Later, I decided to do the laundry. I threw everything into the washer, including his favorite shirts, setting the water temperature to high. I deliberately left them in the dryer for longer than usual. When he came home and saw the result, I just shrugged, feigning indifference.

"Oops," I said, a smile barely touching my lips, "I thought you'd like them a bit more… broken in." He stared at the shrunken clothes in disbelief. I savored his shocked reaction.
