The biography, “Sophia – A Symphony of Silences,” felt cold in her hands. Sophia hadn't spoken more than a handful of words in years. The book documented her retreat from the world, her self-imposed isolation. A heavy fog seemed to settle in her mind. She ran a shaking hand through her hair. Her apartment felt stifling, the familiar objects around her suddenly foreign and mocking. She felt like a statue in a museum, gazed upon but never understood. The silence was deafening.
