The weight of obligation pressed down on Mark, each day the same. The same office, the same commute, the same empty evenings. He could feel the years ticking away, and he wasn't happy.

The yard sale, a chaotic jumble of discarded lives, offered little solace. Then, nestled amongst a pile of dusty toys, he saw him. The bear, Buttons, his childhood confidant.

He cradled the bear, a wave of memories washing over him. The past felt tangible in his hands. He felt a loosening inside, as if a tight knot had finally begun to unravel. He knew, with a sudden certainty, that he could make a change.
