The constant hum of the city, the relentless demands of her schedule – it all felt like a tightening vise. She felt trapped in a life she hadn't chosen, a relentless push toward an unknown destination. The house, a small, unassuming cottage, was supposed to be her sanctuary. One afternoon, while repotting a dying fern, she noticed a draft coming from behind a bookshelf in the living room. Her fingers traced along the bookshelf's back, a chill running up her spine. A slight push revealed a hidden doorway.
