The garden was overgrown, a tangle of weeds and neglected roses. Sarah knelt in the dirt, her hands raw and bleeding from the thorns. She should be clearing the weeds, starting the process, but her movements were listless, her energy depleted. She stared at the house, a looming presence, a tangible representation of her current condition.
