The flashing screen of her laptop reflected the invitation back to her. She’d been scrolling through social media for hours, comparing herself to others, feeling inadequate, and now this. The alumni page. She was tagged in a photo from her high school days. Everyone looked so young.

She wanted to delete the picture, to erase herself from the memories, but she couldn't. It seemed easier to stay where she was. In her home office, in front of her screen, safe.

She closed the laptop, a wave of weariness washing over her. She knew she should get up, do something, anything. But the thought of moving, of facing the world, felt like an impossible task.
