Gemotions

The air in the arena was thick with anticipation, the crowd buzzing with energy. Coach Carter, however, felt a cold dread creeping into his bones. He knew the decision he had to make, and it was a heavy one. He had to remove Alex. Alex had the talent. But the performance wasn't there.

He stood in the hallway, watching Alex warm up with the team. He felt like his feet were being held down by something. The minutes ticked by, each second a painful reminder of what he had to do. He felt a constriction in his chest. His breath came shallow.

He saw Alex, and he felt a wave of sadness wash over him.

He was trapped. Trapped by obligation. Trapped by the expectations of the others. Trapped by his own sense of responsibility. He had to break free.

He walked toward Alex.
