Gemotions

The chipped mug warmed his hands, but did little to soothe the cold dread that permeated him. The university administrator's words echoed in his mind, "An unfortunate error. The funds are being reallocated." The scholarship, the fuel to his ambition of becoming an engineer, was no longer his. He stared out the window at the rain-slicked streets, the city lights reflecting like shattered diamonds. His shoulders slumped, weighted down by a sense of impending doom. He felt as though the world was closing in around him, the walls of his tiny apartment shrinking with each passing moment.
