Her carefully crafted story, a sweeping saga of historical espionage, was deemed "not quite right." She’d poured her heart and soul into the manuscript, sacrificing everything for it.

She’d started the novel in a burst of creative energy, now all she felt was drained. She felt she had nothing left to give, nothing left to write. Her once-vibrant workspace, now a chaotic mess of discarded papers and half-finished drafts, felt like a prison. The colourful pens and highlighters, usually a source of inspiration, lay dormant, gathering dust.

She wandered aimlessly through the rooms, the familiar spaces suddenly unfamiliar. The dust motes dancing in the sunlight mocked her, reminding her of the years she had wasted.
