Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows of the coffee shop, mirroring the storm brewing inside Daniel. He hunched over a lukewarm latte, the steam blurring the already smudged writing on the legal pad in front of him. He was supposed to be outlining his next novel, a project he'd been putting off for months. He felt a throbbing in his temples. He texted, "This is it. The end," to his agent, a message full of despair. Except, his fingers fumbled the name. The message went to his grandmother, who was living in a care home and was a bit hard of hearing.
