Gemotions

My advisor, Dr. Olsen, was leaving. The world seemed to tilt on its axis. I reread the email, each word a hammer blow. My meticulously planned research felt like a castle built on sand. I felt trapped. The walls of my small office seemed to shrink around me.

I sat there, frozen, the deadline looming like a menacing specter. The thought of finding someone new, of explaining everything again, filled me with a sense of hopelessness. I felt a pressure building in my chest, a physical manifestation of my dread.
