"Ugh," groaned Sarah, as she scrubbed the stubborn stain from the kitchen floor. The monotonous chore echoed the feeling of being trapped in a repetitive, never-ending cycle. The walls of her small apartment seemed to be closing in.

Mr. Thompson, her neighbor, kept to himself and his small garden, appearing to be a simple man.

One afternoon, Sarah noticed a gleaming new sports car parked in Mr. Thompson's driveway. A surprising wave of emotion hit her.

Later, she saw Mr. Thompson walking out, smartly dressed and with a beautiful woman on his arm. A cold sensation gripped her heart.
