The coffee cup trembled in Daniel's grasp. He hated the way his hands shook. The accusation hung in the air like a noxious fume, choking him. He had spent weeks on that paper, pouring his heart and soul into every sentence. And now this.

His stomach churned, a knot of unease twisting within him. He avoided eye contact with everyone. The cafeteria was filled with chattering students, their laughter grating on his nerves. Each word felt like an accusation, like they all knew his secret. He picked at his food, barely eating.

He found himself walking aimlessly after class, the familiar campus suddenly feeling alien and hostile. Sunlight felt like a glare, wind a biting slap, and all of it amplified the throbbing in his temples.
