Gemotions

The metallic tang of fear and frustration filled Peter. He remained planted in the corner of the elevator, far away from any possible contact with his colleague, Susan. The silence was almost worse than the mechanical thrum.

“Well, this is certainly an adventure,” Susan announced brightly. Her words bounced off the walls, and hit him like a physical blow. He didn't say anything back.

He felt a headache blooming behind his eyes. He wished he'd taken the stairs. The thought of the important meeting he was supposed to be attending was making his chest tighten.

He stared at the floor indicator again. Still stuck. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment. He really hated this.
