Gemotions

The sterile white walls of the laboratory seemed to mock Finn's current state. He pushed himself against the hard plastic of his chair. He stared out the window, watching the rain blur the already dreary cityscape. The scientist’s words echoed in his mind, the ones about his test results. He felt a profound sense of isolation.

A young man in a lab coat approached him, holding a file. He looked hesitant. Finn didn’t bother to raise his eyes.

"We have to do a retake of your tests, sir," the lab assistant said.

Finn just stared at the floor.

"There's been a mistake, in the tests from the other day…" The assistant looked at him with a strange expression.

Finally, Finn raised his head, and locked eyes with the young man. "What is it?" His voice was cold and clipped.

The assistant hesitated, then spoke: "You have GSD VII. We have one other case here, and we wanted you to know."

Finn stared at the man. He felt… numb.
