From the moment she woke, Sarah had a bad feeling. The air in her small apartment seemed thick and heavy, and even the sunshine streaming through the window couldn't lift her mood. A pervasive sense of dread had followed her all morning.

A delivery arrived at her workplace. A stunning display of irises with no accompanying message. Sarah was instantly suspicious, scrutinizing the package for any clue of the sender. She was certain someone was laughing at her.

She set the flowers on her desk. The beautiful purple blooms only served to highlight the drabness of her surroundings. She returned to her spreadsheet. The numbers swam before her eyes, and she felt a wave of nausea wash over her.
