Gemotions

The weight of the building’s announcement pressed down on her, an invisible hand on her shoulders. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but she kept it all bottled up. Her throat felt tight.

She avoided contact with her friends, cancelling all of her plans. She turned off her phone. She felt a growing desire to be swallowed by the world.

She sat on the sofa, staring at the empty space where her life had once been. The apartment felt smaller, colder, and increasingly unfamiliar. She wrapped her arms around herself, as if trying to hold herself together.
