Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread, usually so comforting, now seemed to mock him. Michael stared at the vacant spot where his Jeep had been parked, his mind a scrambled mess of confusion. It was gone. Vanished.

He blinked rapidly, as if the action would somehow make it reappear. He moved towards the empty space, as if seeking confirmation that this was, in fact, real. His gut twisted into knots.

He put his hands on his hips and let out a long breath, a sigh of disbelief. He was left in a space of bewilderment. A jolt went through him. His whole body wanted to tell him "this can't be happening".
