Gemotions

The seaside breeze whipped around them as they sat on the pier, watching the waves crash against the shore. They were reminiscing about their favorite holiday.

“Remember that time you almost fell off the boat?” George asked, chuckling.

Olivia stiffened. That wasn't how she remembered it. They had a picnic on the beach and the weather was glorious, there was no boat involved.

“I… I didn’t fall off a boat,” she said, her voice strained. She shifted uncomfortably.

George looked at her, his smile fading. “Yes, you did. I had to pull you back in. It was terrifying.”

Olivia's gaze darted around, as if searching for an escape. Her chest felt constricted, and a wave of nausea rolled over her. She knew something was wrong, terribly wrong.
