The dingy pub was the last place Amelia expected to hear her music. She was supposed to be enjoying a night off, a stolen evening away from the pressures of the music industry. But as the band on stage launched into their set, her ears pricked up. The chords of “Silent Echoes” resonated through the room.

She couldn’t move. Her body, normally full of nervous energy, was strangely still. The band, a local group she'd never seen before, was giving her song a hard-rock edge. Their lead singer’s voice, raw and powerful, gave the song a whole new meaning. A coldness settled on her bones.

She watched, mesmerized, as they tore through the song, a visceral, uninhibited performance. Afterward, she found herself walking towards the stage, toward the band. She needed to know… what was this feeling?
