Heads tilted, and hands froze as the class chatter dwindled. "Hey, did you guys see?" Whispered voices grew louder as everyone’s phone buzzed with the same notification. “Ms. Peterson started following you on Snapchat.” Ava felt the air leave her lungs. Snapchat was for quick, silly videos, for documenting the mundane and the ridiculous. Her account was filled with selfies and goofy filters. Her stomach twisted, and she felt a sudden need to be somewhere else. She fumbled with her phone, her fingers clumsy and unsure.
