The sunlight streaming through the kitchen window illuminated dust motes dancing in the air as Sarah discovered the letter. She was tidying up after her father had passed away, and it had been tucked within the pages of a well-worn cookbook. The envelope was addressed to "My Dearest Daughter." Her lips parted slightly.

She recognized the handwriting immediately. It was her late husband’s. Carefully, she opened it. The letter detailed his love for her, his fears about the future, and his profound hope for their shared life. A strange warmth bloomed in her chest. A tear traced a path down her cheek, leaving a clean track in the dust on her skin. She'd known his love, of course, but reading it written down like this...
