"Another beautiful day," I thought, stretching in the morning light. I’d decided to finally try and start on my vegetable garden, which I’d been putting off for weeks. I poured myself a cup of coffee and headed outside.

Then I saw it. Mr. Abernathy’s enormous sycamore, the one that always blocked the sun in the afternoons, was completely down. It was a massive tree, and now it was a pile of broken limbs. I stopped dead in my tracks.

I took a large gulp of my coffee, and it nearly choked me. My jaw went slack. The sun suddenly felt too bright. I could barely move.
