He stared at the business card. *Dr. Elizabeth Harding, Trauma Therapist*. He'd almost thrown it away. She was the one who'd spread rumors about him, the one who'd made his life a misery. The one who had always looked down on him with contempt.

His pulse quickened, and his vision swam as he considered the appointment. The idea of confiding in her, of revealing his vulnerabilities, felt utterly surreal. He glanced at the card again, then crushed it in his fist. He had to be dreaming, this couldn’t be real.
