Gemotions

I walked into the staff room, expecting the usual stale coffee and gossip. Instead, sitting on the table, was a brand new, high-end coffee maker. A small card sat beside it. I picked it up, my heart beginning to race.

The card read: “Thank you for the caffeine-fueled inspiration! Love, Mark.” Mark! He had been one of my most challenging students, always full of energy and mischief. I stared at the machine, a grin spreading across my face. I hadn't seen him in years.

I must make a coffee now.
