"That can't be right," Jason murmured, scrolling through the university's website. He'd been looking up course schedules when he saw the announcement. It felt like a bad dream. He blinked, but the words remained. He leaned back in his chair, his breath catching in his throat.

A wave of dizziness washed over him. He felt as though someone had stolen his foundation. His carefully structured life, the future he’d envisioned, all seemed to teeter precariously. He began to rub his temples, trying to ward off the growing pressure behind his eyes. He swallowed hard.
