Gemotions

John found the bouquet on his desk when he came into work. It was a simple arrangement of white daisies. He frowned. He knew few people in the office, and had no friends outside of work. He wondered who had sent them, and why. The daisies seemed innocent enough, but the lack of a note added a sense of unease.

He asked around, but no one claimed them. He left them on his desk. Each day, they began to wither, and he could barely stand to look at them.

He threw them out, and his life resumed its lonely, quiet course.
