"Hey, what's this?" Leo mumbled, kicking at the clump of earth in his garden. A small, green container popped up, partially buried. The lid was screwed on tight. He bent down, tugging it out. It was a metal lunchbox, painted with cartoon characters. He tugged at his beard, baffled.

He twisted the lid off, inhaling a scent of dried paper. Inside, a faded drawing of a dog. He remembered nothing of this. His mind felt like a blank slate. He reached out to touch the paper, his fingers tracing the outline of the animal. His mouth hung slightly open, as if in a daze.
