Gemotions

The persistent pounding echoed through the walls. David, usually tolerant, found himself clenching his jaw. He was trying to work from home, but the relentless noise from the neighboring house made concentration nearly impossible.

He had watched Mr. Peterson, the homeowner, surveying the demolition with a worried frown. The project was the new owner's dream, a complete overhaul of his dining room.

David recalled the struggles of his own parents who had undergone their own renovation. He knew about the financial burdens and the emotional strain of living in a construction zone. He felt a deep connection to them, and realized what was probably going on in the home next door.

He resolved to bring over a plate of freshly made sandwiches later in the day, a small gesture of goodwill.
