Gemotions

The drilling had started early. The entire neighborhood was now alive with a jarring, mechanical symphony. John sighed, rubbing his temples. He knew what was happening: the Millers, the new family next door, were finally starting to remodel their kitchen.

He had met the couple briefly. They were enthusiastic and optimistic, but John had a feeling they were in over their heads.

John had been through a massive home renovation himself. He thought of the endless delays, the unexpected expenses, and the constant stress. He remembered the feeling of being overwhelmed and the constant, nagging doubt.

He decided to walk over and offer his help with some carpentry. He knew he didn't have much time, but the feeling that compelled him to act was strong.
