The silence in the car was thick, punctuated only by the hum of the engine and the distant rush of traffic. Michael had overheard a snippet of a phone call while Sarah was in the shower. A voice he didn't recognize, filled with laughter and endearments. He kept replaying the conversation in his mind, the words echoing in his ears.

He glanced at Sarah, who sat beside him, gazing out the window, her face unreadable. He could confront her. He could scream. Instead, he turned up the volume on the radio, filling the void with music.

He reached over and took her hand, squeezing it gently. She turned to him, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. "Everything alright?" she asked, her voice soft. He nodded, offering a tight smile.
