The vibrant colors of the art studio, usually a source of joy for him, seemed muted and dull. Leo stared at the canvas, his paintbrush poised mid-stroke. He’d seen the phone, the caller ID flashing a number he didn't recognise. He could feel the familiar weight of unease settle in his chest.

He carefully cleaned his brushes, the rhythmic motion a balm to his frazzled nerves. He thought about the years he and Maya had spent together, the laughter, the shared dreams. He knew their relationship wasn't always easy, and sometimes relationships could struggle.

He left the studio and returned home. He decided to make her a cup of tea. He knew he didn't have all the answers. But he had love, which was enough for now.
