Gemotions

The school bell’s shrill ring cut through the air, sending a shiver through her. It was the same bell, in the same building, with the same teacher. Ms. Peterson, her art teacher, still had the same bright smile. Now, her son, Sam, was about to enter her classroom.

She remembered the creative pressure, the need to impress, the occasional feelings of failure. The thought of Sam experiencing the same feelings made her want to intervene.

She watched Sam’s face, searching for any sign of worry. Seeing only excitement, she took a deep breath. She hoped Sam would find his own voice, find his own creative spark. She wanted him to feel good about himself.
