Gemotions

The salty air whipped through Sarah's hair as she sat on the beach, listening to Michael. Michael was describing their first summer vacation together, a sun-drenched memory of perfect days and romantic evenings.

Sarah ran her fingers through the sand, the grains cool against her skin. Michael’s recollections were of endless fun. How great the beach was.

Sarah remembered the arguments, the underlying tension, the silent resentments. She remembered feeling isolated, misunderstood. She remembered feeling alone. She knew what Michael was remembering, and she also knew that those memories were pure.

"It was magical," Michael sighed, gazing out at the waves.

Sarah took a deep breath. “It really was.”
