James saw it on his newsfeed. He read the headline and felt a wave of cold rush through him. "My Secret Life - James' Teenage Diary." It was, without a doubt, his. The words felt like physical blows.

He scrolled through the blog, each entry a painful reminder of his awkward youth, his unrequited crushes, his struggles with identity. He could almost feel the phantom aches of his younger self. His hands began to sweat.

He shut down his computer, the screen reflecting his stricken expression. He walked around his apartment, unable to settle. He then spent the rest of the day in a numb haze, the past, suddenly, alive and all-consuming.
