He hadn't written in it for years. But there it was. His old, leather-bound diary, now digitized and hosted on a website he'd never heard of. Peter’s stomach lurched.

He saw the words and felt the sting of memories. The awkwardness, the insecurities, the youthful dreams and disappointments. The website was filled with comments, each one a potential insult. He clenched his jaw.

Peter slowly closed his eyes, and the ghosts of his past felt more present than ever. He remembered the pain, and felt his heart grow heavy. The silence in his apartment felt deafening, and he could barely breathe.
