I knew the house had secrets. The moment I walked through the door. The hidden room, accessed by a trapdoor in the floor, proved it. It was a workshop of sorts, cluttered with tools and half-finished projects. But it wasn't the tools that captured my attention; it was the meticulous organization of everything. Each item had its place, each drawer was labeled with a perfect hand. On the workbench, a single, unfinished wooden toy lay half-carved. I thought of someone, perhaps a father, who had poured his love into this work. My shoulders slumped; the toy, a solitary reminder of unfinished dreams, made me feel a profound sense of loss.
