Gemotions

The bookstore was crammed with people, but Leo didn't even notice. He was consumed by the book he’d just purchased, a first edition of *The Picture of Dorian Gray*. He found a quiet corner and started to read, but a letter fell out, handwritten and folded. His fingers trembled slightly as he unfolded it.

The letter was full of regret, of mistakes made and opportunities lost. He felt a sharp throb in his chest as he read. Leo closed his eyes, imagining the author and their burdens. He wondered what they must have felt at the time, all those years ago.
