The air inside the house felt thick, heavy with memories. Daniel, the younger sibling, watched as his sister, Olivia, methodically began cataloging the contents of the living room, a clipboard in her hand. He knew she was trying to be efficient, but his own heart was heavy.

He wandered into the dining room, where the table was still set with his grandmother's best china. He ran a finger across a delicate teacup, remembering the afternoon tea parties she used to host. He could almost hear her laughter, feel the warmth of her presence.

He saw Olivia looking at him. “What are you doing?” she asked, a touch of impatience in her tone. He shrugged, unable to articulate the complex emotions churning within him. He just wanted to remember her.
