Rain lashed against the windows as David discovered the wallet nestled in the muddy gutter. He knelt, his fingers tracing the worn leather. A thick wad of cash stared back at him. He could use it; his rent was overdue.

He imagined the owner - perhaps a struggling parent, a hurried businessman, or a young couple saving for their future. He closed his eyes, the image of their disappointment filling his vision.

David pulled out his own phone and quickly began typing out a message to the email address listed in the wallet, hoping to reunite the money with its rightful owner. He'd find a way to make it work.
