Gemotions

The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Leo noticed his journal lying open on his desk. He'd written about his secret desire to change his major, a decision he hadn't shared with anyone. His roommate, Finn, was sitting at his own desk, his back to Leo, staring intently at the screen of his laptop.

Leo walked over to the desk. He closed the journal. A wave of exhaustion washed over him.

“Finn,” Leo said, his voice quiet.

Finn didn’t turn around. “Yeah?”

Leo simply said, “Nothing.” He sat down on his bed.
